We had so much fun at this Downtown Boston Fitness Branding Session with Lou! Lou contacted us for information on our creative and corporate branding sessions! He needed images for his fitness portfolio, a charity event promotion, and for an audition to be an instructor for a major fitness app. We love the ability to get creative with our clients! Lou had a specific look in mind for his session and came well prepared. He also had branding colors of blue and yellow that he wanted to incorporate. We started the shoot outside in the area surrounding the studio in Downtown Boston. We worked with city building patterns and textures such as cement pillars and stairs as well as brick walls. It was important to keep the background of these images neutral in color so that Lou would stand out.
We then finished out the session in the studio. We again chose a neutral high key background to highlight Lou and his commitment to his fitness journey. He wants to help others on their fitness journey and self-love awareness. The journey takes commitment and hard work. He had the idea of creating a “just worked out” and sweat covered look to finish out the session and show that it takes.
When capturing and editing these images we went for an increased contrast look to bring out toned features and light sculpting. We also opted to mix in some dramatic black and white imagery.
Learning about our clients and their goals is always of interest to us at Boston Portrait Company.
We reached out to Lou regarding his current fitness efforts for charity and this is what he shared with us:
“On October 7th, 2021 I will be the first person to run/swim the perimeter of Martha’s Vineyard,” said Lou. (This is including Chappaquiddick island AND in under 24 hours!) This is to raise money for kids on Martha’s Vineyard that are struggling with hunger, poverty, mental health, and more. When people think of Martha’s Vineyard they don’t typically think of people in need. However, there are kids here that need help just like everywhere else. I’m also doing this to spread self-love awareness.
“I hope in doing this, at least one person realizes that anything is possible, and just how much love they have inside of them & are capable of showing.”-Lou
From start to finish Lou was a wonderful person to work with! We had so much fun creating these images with him and appreciate him making the trek from Martha’s Vineyard to visit our studio! We wish him all the best in his quest to help others through his love of fitness.
